The EOD 9A Helmet, engineered by Med-Eng Systems Inc. is the world's first EMC Class A Helmet for Explosive Ordnance Disposal / Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (EOD/IEDD, or bomb disposal) operations. The escalation of the Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) threat means that synergistic IEDD equipment has to operate in the harsh Radio Frequency (RF) environment of Electronic Countermeasures (ECM). What makes the EOD 9A unique is its ability to actively shield its on-board support systems to prevent unwanted electromagnetic activity from interfering with the operator's ability to carry out a task. The EOD 9A conforms to both the Defence Standard 59-41, and military standard 461E and integrates with all Med-Eng EOD Suits.
